The views of the mountains and river were great. My son went to the river, sat on a boulder and read for an hour listening to the river, decompressing from his highly stressful job.
Being right next to Yosemite was a HUGE plus. It was the closest to being in the park we could find.
It was very nice having a kitchenette. We cooked a pot of chili instead of having restaurant food. Every thing was very clean in the rooms.
I REALLY LIKED having to pay for internet. Counter intuitive, but hey, if you are on vacation why does one need to be tethered to electronics?
Child: Mom/Dad, my device won't work.
Mom/Dad: Oh well. It's not in our budget.
Besides... I had work to do and with fewer people grabbing bandwidth I was able to spend more time doing what I wanted, which was enjoying my vacation.
Nothing. All was good.

We loved the view of the river. Nice clean rooms and on site restaurants. Right outside of Yosemite for quick access. We left our balcony door open a little to listen to the river at night but had an unexpected visitor - a raccoon. Keep your doors closed at night. They can climb.

This was a nice place to stay. Service was good, room was clean and the view as wonderful from out room. We ate at the Pizza place the first night. It is basic but just fine. We had dinner at the Restaurant and Sean our waiter was right on and the food was cook perfectly. The last night we ate in the Bar after a long day in the Valley. The bartender was great and the food, though limited, was also perfectly cooked. The prices really weren't that bad. We have seen much higher for much less. We would stay at Yosemite View Lodge again in a shot. Access to Yosemite Valley via YARTS bus was perfect for us. No driving, no parking in the Valley.
Not having internet service, without purchasing it, was different but no really bad. We were on vacation, being disconnected for a few hours a day is a good thing. Not having prices on the food items in the little store wasn't great. For those on a budget it would make shopping hard.

Here's a shout out to your staff, especially Lorena, who was very accommodating when we wanted to store food and water for the barbeque for our wedding rehearsal (Flammer-Duncan wedding party). Lorena and others on staff helped us move several boxes into your cold room. Next time we come to Yosemite, we will stay with you folks.

Very friendly staff, highly accommodating. Beautiful view,Comfortable lodging, very close to Yosemite Park, great price.
Most of all my wife was dying of ALS "Lou Gehrigs Disease" we visited twice within 12 months and the Yosemite View Lodge is totally ADA accessible. I was easily able to get my incapacitated wife in and out of the bed, shower, room, and their store and restaurant. My wife has passed, my daughter and I are coming back this spring 2014.
